Angie Brown

Hello my name is Angie Brown and I have been working at NFFC for 10 years. Over the years my responsibilities have grown and I am currently the Manager, a Personal Trainer, Class Instructor and Wellness Coach.

I was born in Louisville Kentucky and moved to Asheboro in 1985. I graduated from SWR in 1992. I have two great kids Samantha 17 and Cory 11. Although I didn’t become interested in working out and living a healthy lifestyle until my late 20’s, I feel like I can easily relate to people who think it’s too late to make a difference in their lives.

After the birth of my second child I was hired at NFFC as a Nursery attendant. I was suddenly surrounded by such motivated, high energy people and it didn’t take long for me to get interested in working out and eating right. After 9 months of hard work and determination I lost 30lbs and went from a size 16 to a size 4!!

Now I love passing on that same experience to others. I love working with people to help them change their lives...by sharing something I love so much with them- there’s nothing that feels better then that!! To me, fitness and exercise is not just about lifting weights or running on a treadmill, its about raising your activity level in ways that make sense to you. Just find something healthy you enjoy and do it often!

I have found over the years that there is no one-size-fits-all exercise program. It is important to me to really understand my clients goals and then customize the most effective workout possible just for them. Some people may enjoy group exercises, functional training, or joining a running group. I became a Personal Trainer / Wellness Coach to make a difference in people’s lives through not only working out and eating right but also setting goals personally and physically. Helping clients have the confidence to attain their goals is very important to me.

Some times I may spend 30 minutes talking to a client about their day or stress they may be going through. I believe in getting the mind in shape each day before the body can get in shape. That is where my Wellness Coaching comes in the picture. Health is about more than just the physical exercise!

Being a Personal Trainer has forced me into all kinds of different situations that challenge me physically and mentally. I have ran 10k's and I have ran through fire, climbed over 8ft walls, slid into a pool of mud and more in the Rugged Maniac in 2010!

I credit my success as a Personal Trainer to truly caring and investing in my clients. I have worked with clients of all age ranges, backgrounds and different physical needs. One of my greatest rewards comes when I see my clients meet their health goals and we form a friendship in the process. I am honored to have met and been allowed to help so many amazing people! Thank you!
